The Involvement Awards serve as an opportunity to recognize outstanding student leaders and organizations for their tremendous contributions to the University of Florida and the Gainesville community. Awards are presented to student organizations recognizing leadership, programming, innovation and creativity.

Outstanding Graduate Organization

2017 Winner: College of Medicine Graduate Student Organization

This award recognizes a student organization that has augmented the college experience for University of Florida graduate students exemplifying commitment to the betterment and strengthening of the organization’s chosen community/audience

Qualifications for this award includes, but is not limited to:

  • Serving the University of Florida graduate population
  • Successful recruitment and retention of organization members
  • Quality of programming provided to graduate population
  • Professional development opportunities provided through membership
  • Contributions to furthering the mission of the University of Florida


Among many other important functions, The College of Medicine- Graduate Student Organization provides a forum for graduate students at the College of Medicine to address issues involving faculty, curriculum, facilities, and policies both at the College of Medicine, as well as the University of Florida. The GSO also serves as an advisory board, sending representatives to the Medical College Council (MCC), the College of Medicine Student Advocacy Committee (SAC) and the Graduate Student Council (GSC).
