When is Gator Preview?
Gator Preview takes place during the last weekend of January and first weekend of February, prior to the August start of a cohort. For the Fall 2027 Cohort, those dates are January 31st – February 2nd, 2027 and February 7th – February 9th, 2027
Do I have to attend Gator Preview?
Gator Preview is a required part of the application process, as it is necessary for the program to ascertain if the program is a good fit for your scope of research. Students will be given the option to attend either weekend, to help combat any difficulties with scheduling.
I will live abroad at the time of Gator Preview, am I still eligible?
Due to the limited time between interview invitations and the scheduled interview weekend, applicants who require a visa or prior travel authorization to enter the United States may not be able to attend the in-person event. In such cases, applicants may be offered a virtual interview option.
What does Gator Preview entail?
Gator Preview is a chance for to explore our multiple concentrations, meet our research faculty, tour research laboratories, and meet with current and other prospective PhD students. While structure may change from year to year, students will participate in a current student dinner, interview sessions with faculty, events within their identified concentration(s), and a faculty dinner. Prior to your arrival in Gainesville, prospective students will be given an itinerary and interview schedule.
I still have questions. Who do I contact?
