International Student information

Attention INTERNATIONAL students!

Upon acceptance of your BMS offer and once your admission is reflected in the University of Florida student records system, Amy Davis will request your I-20/DS-2019.  Once the University of Florida International Center receives the request, you will be contacted via email with a detailed explanation and instructions for the I-20/DS-2019 process. International students already in the United States, either attending another institution or on a period of employment authorization, must schedule a SEVIS transfer to the University of Florida with the international center at your current institution.

Your target date for moving to Gainesville should be no later than the first week of August, to ensure you have plenty of time to find housing, arrange for utilities, phone connections, etc., and get settled.  You will need to be sure you have enough personal funds to support your living expenses for 2-3 months when you move to Gainesville. Due to the amount of paperwork that must be completed for you to be hired as a Graduate Assistant, your first pay check may be delayed by as much as 3 months. In addition to completing the hire paperwork for your BMS Program assistantship, you must check-in with the UF International Center as quickly as you can upon arriving in Gainesville.

Orientation activities are mandatory.
